I only recently started getting into Doctor Who, but fell in love with Reinette's character. She seemed so whole as a person for having been on screen for such a short amount of time. Went in search of more info about her and how she fits into fandom and was astounded by the crazy amount of animosity regarding her. Frankly, I just don't get it and you've articulated perfectly why.
